Landlord / Tenant

Peter provides services including drafting and reviewing commercial and residential leases for landlords and tenants; and, when necessary, litigates matters arising out of commercial and residential landlord/tenant relationships, whether based on oral or written leases, and handles matters for landlord clients such as statutory 3-day notices to pay rent or deliver possession of the rental premises to 7-day notices for breach of lease, to suits for eviction, claims for unpaid rent, additional rent, damages, and, if available by law or contract, attorneys fees.

Peter’s client list includes landlord-owners who may own or manage only one or two rental properties as a small business or personal investment, as well as larger companies with multiple units under ownership or management contracts.

He provides services to out-of-town landlords-owners who need a local, Gainesville-based attorney to pursue a landlord-tenant action on their behalf for property located in Gainesville or in the surrounding counties.

He advises residential and commercial clients concerning their rights and obligations, as landlords and tenants, under lease agreements, including the condition of rental properties, lease disputes, treatment and returns of deposits, negotiations for lease extensions, termination, or modifications, and other matters arising out of residential and commercial leases.
